Vanguard Legal Group is a leading Estate Planning firm in California. With 51 offices throughout the state, they exist to help individuals and families plan for their future.
In 2024, they made the leap to invest in a complete website overhaul. They realized their outdated website no longer reflected their current status as a well-established industry leader, and failed to make a clear call-to-action for their visitors.
Over the course of 2 months, I designed comprehensive wireframes for desktop, tablet, and mobile, while balancing their top priorities for a website: design aesthetics, website functionality, and user experience.

When considering what assets to keep, the Legacy Blue color remained the focus of this refresh. From there, we enhanced the palette further by finessing the gold—a reference to California’s Gold Rush, and introduced an antique brown, powder blue, and porcelain cream.
Due to the nature of their industry and focus on estate planning, our design choices were made with the intention of softening harsher edges and relaying a trustworthy partner. The headline font is sophisticated and readable. The images are treated with a slight round border. The photo treatment relies on warmer tones to complement the cool primary color.
