YWCA Kalamazoo

YWCA Kalamazoo is the oldest chapter of the larger non-profit YWCA organization focused on eliminating racism and empowering women in their community.

In 2019, they sought a creative team who could design and develop their print and digital annual reports. The challenge was finding harmony with their national brand system and their own visual individuality as a brand chapter.

With Circa Brand Agency, I helped create different mood boards. Once a style was established and a print annual report was designed, I then used the finalized brand elements to build out the digital annual report.

In the brand discovery phase, I compiled mood boards for 3 different styles to present. The chosen mood board titled “Activist” (left) guided the Circa team to establish the visual direction moving forward. The final style (right) incorporates directional arrows to signify progress and color overlays to highlight humanity in imagery.

Social media marketing plays an important role in the success of YWCA Kalamazoo. Spread across many of the major social media platforms, they needed further alignment for how to continue strengthening their presence. I completed a SWOT analysis for their Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube channels, and offered best practices moving forward.
